Rooted in Uganda
Since our inception in 2019 and official establishment in 2022, we have fostered strong relationships with local communities and council chairpersons to address the urgent challenge of malnutrition.
The struggles of countless children drive us to take meaningful action.
Our innovative approach unites agriculture, nutrition, and healthcare, carefully crafted in collaboration with local mothers. Our training programs are conducted by skilled individuals from the communities we serve, incorporating local knowledge and expertise into our mission. Our commitment is deeply rooted in the heart of Uganda, unwavering in our dedication to uplift these vulnerable children.
Integrating Agriculture and Nutrition into the healthcare system stands as our most viable path to combating malnutrition in a sustainable manner.
Embracing modern agricultural machinery bolsters productivity, ensuring that nutritious sustenance reaches underprivileged children without delay. In our quest, we've woven a tight-knit partnership with the Ugandan government, locking arms with dedicated Community Health Workers and local leaders. Together, we orchestrate the delivery of food and life-saving medicines at local health centres.
Beyond that, we offer hands-on training to households with arable land, dispensing valuable counsel on national policies to fortify the community's resilience against malnutrition.
Our strategy for eradicating malnutrition is both comprehensive and well-defined. We prioritize educating mothers and older children on essential agricultural practices, nutrition, and healthcare, while also offering medical assistance for severe cases.
At IFOSOF, we believe the solution to chronic malnutrition isn’t found in hospitals, but in agriculture. We partner with families facing malnutrition, regardless of their land size, by guiding them in growing their own food crops and diverse vegetable gardens right at home. Through collaborations with various organizations, we provide seeds, hands-on training, and knowledge about climate-resilient crops. We also teach locally accessible agricultural techniques, empowering families to transform their lives. Our mission goes beyond addressing malnutrition—it's about enabling communities to reclaim their health and well-being through the power of farming.

"Every branch of knowledge which a good man possesses, he may apply to some good purpose."
When children have access to nutritious food, they are better equipped to learn and be productive. This can also help break the cycle of poverty and hunger. To ensure parents can provide their families with healthy meals, it is important for them to understand the basics of nutrition. IFOSOF provides parents with essential knowledge about healthy eating, including the benefits of a balanced diet and proper breastfeeding practices. This empowers every mother to provide her children with the nutrients they need to thrive.
IFOSOF
"Nutrition is vital for children’s growth and development. Its importance cannot be overstated!"
Ensuring the health and well-being of children is our top priority. Over time, we have made significant strides in improving children's health and reducing mortality rates. It is essential for children to maintain cleanliness, as it is crucial for their overall health and self-confidence. We provide comprehensive education to families in our care, covering a wide range of health topics, including proper hygiene practices such as WASH, which is particularly important for preventing diseases. Our approach goes beyond the basics and addresses challenging issues such as child rape (which has become more prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic), family planning, and gender-based violence.
